'61 Falcon "Dirt Mod" UNIQUE !!!

This is the only one I have...$100

Back

From 1997 thru 1999 this "starter kit" was produced and sold to represent the "Modified" cars that raced up and down eastern Wisconsin, and Upper Michigan from the early 50s through the mid 70s. Chassis were built from 30s style narrowed frame rails, and Body styles were made up from pre-war coupes and sedans (although when those bodies became scarce, narrowed and shortened 50s & 60s selections became the bodies of choice, with some REALLY interesting creations like this Falcon that raced at our tracks). Modified 30s front axles, and an old truck rear end turned a set of home engineered "five wide" wheels (there were no racing wheel manufactures then). Horsepower was for the most part delivered by a small block Chevy fuel injected engine (our cars ran on alcohol, and I bet you can still remember how it burned your eyes when you stood by the fence as a kid when the field idled by on parade laps).

Based on the 1/25 AMT '61 Ford Falcon body, ALL the parts are supplied to construct the "rolling" chassis w/body shown in the picture. This includes body, hood, radiator, chassis, 3 wide black resin tires w/wheel backs molded in, plus extra wheel backs. 9 rims (4 early "five wide", 4 steel wheels with six lugs, and an early five wide for the left front). Enough styrene tubing in 3 sizes for all roll/nerf bars etc. (you will even have enough tubing left to make radius/tie rods) Sheet plastic, window netting, Chevy fuel injection intake manifold and detailed assembly instructions. YOU supply the engine, seat, steering wheel and decals.
